ArtBizTech bang. Neuro team has conducted a design thinking workshop at one of the most significant hospital in Turkey, Memorial-Bahçelievler Hospital to solve the challenge of “How might we create a relaxing launch area for patients?” The team has applied Empathy Mapping technique to learn what this target groups think and feel at the start of their journey in the hospital. Then psychologists from the hospital and bang. Neuro team worked together on an Affinity Diagram to explore the patterns within thoughts and feelings of people. As an insight the team identified that “When they step inside the hospital, people not only expect to feel relaxation and revival but also the feeling of being at a hospital where latest technology is used.”
The team brain-dumped many ideas that would create these feelings when people entered into the hospital. The “wow” idea was displaying a digital artwork inheriting neuroaesthetics principles on the entrance hall. Being digital it would evoke the thought of advanced technology and on the other side its images, colors and forms would recall the feeling of relaxation and peace.
The artists from Nohlab, curators and art directors from bang. Neuro teams, and designers and technology experts from bang. Neuro team worked for three months and created a huge digital artwork called “Ab-ı Hayat”. Ab-ı Hayat means “the water of life.” It is now displayed via video wall with 48 LCD screens on three floors of the hospital. It creates a new dimension of time and space for the hospital visitors and creates an experience of healing and recovery.
Now it became the corporate identity of the hospital in front of which people take photos and feel the healing power of art.
